Matthaeus Allaman

Matthaeus Allaman is the Major of the Pontifical Swiss Guard.

Appearance

Matthaeus has greying, neck-length, straight brown hair. He is over 175cm in height.

Personality

Matthaeus is friendly, and more easy-going than Commander Leutzinger or Vice-Commander Pfyffer.

Biography

Early Years

Matthaeus Allaman was born in the village of Matt in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus, in Switzerland. His family was Roman Catholic and German-speaking, and his home life was, apparently, relatively normal and/or happy.

Pius XIII

Under Pius XIII, Matthaeus Allaman was forced to retake his oath, and oversee the retaking of the oath, alongside the rest of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. He was also one of the officers who met with Giuliano de' Medici and Sofonisba Anguissola after their miraculous reappearance in the 21st century.

Innocent XIV

In the second year of the Innocent papacy, Allaman was involved in the Angelus Shooting. Two shots were fired by an assailant, the first striking Innocent in the torso, the second grazing Allaman in the arm as he tackled Innocent down to the ground. Matthaeus and his elder son Martin travelled to Gemelli hospital in the papal party, where they were both admitted for the night (Matthaeus for a minor GSW and Martin for shock). Matthaeus then took several days off work as he recovered.

Relationships

Matthaeus Allaman is the spouse of Guila Allaman and Emil Koch. Together they have two sons, both born a few years before the Innocent papacy: Martin Allaman and Vincenzo Allaman. He is very close to all of them.

Mathaeus is also a good friend of Commander Hans Leutzinger, and a friend of Pope Innocent XIV.
