Megatron was never a child.
Megatron never underwent formal education, but he has been accurately described as "the most ferocious autodidact." Exceptionally clever and exceptionally hungry for knowledge, he is widely read, widely interested, and would approach status as one of the great polymaths of Cybertronian history if it weren't for... all of the other things.
Who was their favourite teacher, or other favourite educator? Terminus... or, possibly, Minimus.
What made this person their favourite? For Terminus: the faith he had in Megatron and his fire for justice. For Minimus, his patience and how it combines with passion.

Before the war: one count of assault, one count of drunken and disorderly behaviour, and several sedition and illegal fighting charges. All were dropped due to lack of evidence. After the war: crimes against humanity (dropped due to jack of jurisdiction), crimes against good taste (dropped due to it being a nonsense law), multiple counts of murder and other atrocities (dropped due to lack of evidence/alternative offenders).
What crimes have they committed without ever being caught? He littered, once, and pirated some media. He was probably drunk and disorderly a couple of times without being arrested, as well.
